Danielle and I moved to Geneva in late August 2002. When we moved in, we took over an appartment of a friend of mine. That appartmetn was in Ferney-Voltaire, France. We lived there for about a month before moving into a cozy little place in the quiet village of Choully. I hope to put up some photos here soon.

It took a bit of adjustment from life in Madison. In Madison I knew a ton of people, was active in a band, played capoeira, and was active in politics. In Switzerland I was no longer doing any of those things. I took a bit of time to make a comparison of how my time was split for an average week in Madison (left) and in Switzerland (right). More food, more physics, less exercise... yikes! I guess it is the time for me to buckle down and get this Ph.D. over with.

I did finally find Capoeira here, but I haven't found the time to go regularly (it's down town - about 1/2 an hour away). I do now enjoy beautiful walks or bike rides to CERN, but it's not too much for exercise. During the winter, Danielle and I went cross-country skiing with our friends Marcus and Birgit - and that was great. Finally, Danielle and I joined a gym that's close by and has a sauna!
